Amelia at 14

 

Amelia is a rare creature at 14. She is nerdy and silly all at the same time. I absolutely love that she still plays imaginative games with her siblings and friends. She is at a strange cross roads between being a child and an older teenager. We see bouts of her sitting on her end of the couch for hours on end, then suddenly she's playing. I love that she is growing a talent for singing and piano. This year was excellent for her to step back and focus on music, reading, and homeschool. I am sure she was bored more often than not but she always seemed to find something to do like paint, draw Gotcha characters, make jewelry, or some other craft. Her newest fascinations are Gravity Falls and a continuing love for Miraculous. Mia loves to chat with Chloe and Lia (Lance). 

She looks like a grown woman, though I think she might grow another inch or two before her adult height is reached. She loves to work the stationary bike and the treadmill at the gym with me most weekday mornings. At home Amelia will jump on the trampoline, roller blade, and ride her bike. This girl is growing a clientele for babysitting to earn some pocket money. She plans to get a job within the next year. Driving is on her near horizon. 

Amelia can get quite feisty when crossed or if someone sits in her couch spot. She is quite accomplished at yelling just as loudly as Justin. Those two like to spar wits but Justin usually wins, which is good for her pride. I love experiencing Amelia as she reaches for the stars in her sky. She is a wonderful girl. Happy 14 years of life.
