Sing it Girl!

What a strange week. My heart is hurting for all those lost lives in Israel and Palestine as the two countries are now at war. I heard news reports of decapitated babies left on the road side by the Hamas. Thursday my Dad had an angiogram to check on how the AVM removal surgery went. Friday Mom said he woke up with his extremities numb, chest tight, and his speech looping. Turns out he had a mini stroke due to a tiny nick during the procedure and/or an air bubble in the syringe. He is recovering but we were all holding our breath. Justin’s amazing Aunt Jo passed away Thursday due to old age. Today Justin told me Jonathon and Melissa are greatly suffering, to the point that Jonathon is hospitalized. I caught the nasty bugs traveling around school. I went to sleep at midnight and woke up today at 2:30 pm. Gracious. What an eventful week.

Amelia did a wonderful job playing piano for the men’s choir at school. They sounded off-key but her playing was perfection. Then she blew us out of the water with her solo part, a Dolly Parton song rewritten for choir. Way to go Amelia!!! Josie finished her violin practice chart, she decided to get blue-light glasses as a reward.

Phillip and Everett had their first robotics scrimmage on Friday. They came in last place because their robot arm is not functioning properly. The boys are both convinced the problem lies in contrary camps: Phillip thinks the code is wrong, Everett thinks the arm needs reworking. They are not coming to a consensus. Friday we had a chat about teamwork and that all players need to be listened to and examined.

Justin interviewed last week for a local home health company that is not publicly traded. This week he had two more interviews! He really likes the leadership and the personnel. The company is a split off of Pennant, called Ensign. I think he will accept the position if they offer him the job. I hope he gets an offer. The new position would mean a bit more money per money, better home-work balance, and less politics with the company not publicly traded.

Yesterday was a lunar eclipse! I got some eclipse glasses so we could see the event. Right around totality a bank of clouds rolled in and obscured the best part of the eclipse. Evelyn and I almost cried. I timed grocery shopping so that I would be home 15 minutes before totality. That was a mistake! Oh well! Justin nabbed some fun photos with his phone camera. The leaves are coming down in a swift pile. We are trying to convince Fergus to play in the leaves. He is not sure about that at all. My guess?! He plays in the leaves when no one is watching. Josie had the stomach flu Friday night. Saturday was quite the lame day for Josie, Justin, and I who are all feeling quite under the weather.
