Maisie, Leaves, Choir, and TVFOB
Maisie, we named our new pup Maisie. She is a timid little thing. We quickly learned she is not house trained, is very protective of her spot on the couch, is very wary of Fergus, and is so very soft. After a week she is starting to acclimate to her new situation. We got the feeling she has not been socialized or treated like a pet, probably just a puppy making machine for her 5 years of life. Yesterday, Justin took her to Home Depot where she was shaking like a leaf. The kids were very excited to go to Walmart to get her some treats, a sweater, and a collar. She froze for about an hour after we put the sweater on her. It was hilarious. Fergus decided his newest nemesis is the leaf blower. He goes absolutely bonkers when it is turned on. Maisie thinks the patio is her pee spot…plus wherever she goes inside the house. Amelia put her in the baby stroller, she was content to sit in the bottom basket like a boss.
I had a busy week getting all the MCO stuff ready for the attire check next week. Danielle organized a group of MCO ladies to attend the Witches Night Out at the Meridian mall. It rained half the day but the soggy weather did not keep the crowds away. Only 6 of us made it to the mall for the event. We had a fun time walking around, eating dinner, and shopping at some pop-up local businesses. I found the cutest crochet “secret pot,” it holds candy inside the pot with a succulent hiding the treats. I was very tired but went just to prove I was not a party pooper, guess I’m not. Next day I went to MCO to train my assistant in the Attire Check ways. I ran home with the girls just in time for Amelia’s CHS choir concert. She was so cute and bouncy on stage welcoming everyone to the concert. Mrs Sene purchased some amazing microphones end of last school year. For the first time, we could hear the singers! I was impressed! Each choir did an awesome job. All of the chamber choir pieces were sung a-capella, those students slayed!
I am taking 3 professional development classes this year on coding. Our first meeting was Wednesday afterschool. That was fun to get back into a class and learning new skills. The students are driving me nuts. October is Digital Citizenship month, so we are learning all about that. The lessons are mostly boring and the kids just fidget for the lesson. Thankfully, we are almost finished with the unit. On to more exciting topics. Wednesday and Thursday were so crazy I came home and jokingly said, “I am not sure I love Heavenly Father’s children right now…!” It was a full moon and it rained for the first time in a long time.
It is family photo season. Even with paring down my business to bare bones it is still too much for me. I feel like I’m a slave to my computer as I edit photos with time crunches looming closer. Brother Caruthers texted me this week wondering if I could take professional photos of a new product he invented. That was a fun challenge. He invented a pulley system to deliver snacks and toys from the front passenger seat to the back. Evelyn and Josie may be famous if his product sells. The girls went with me to Kathryn Albertson Park Saturday afternoon to enjoy the glory of fall with Fergus and Maisie. I photographed my favorite two cuties, Emma and Izzy and then Ms Gingerich’s family. Her two boys are hilarious. The fall colors were eye-candy, a perfect mix of red, yellow, green, orange, and all the colors in between.
This week I went to watch Phillip and the band perform. They were at Vallivue school for the Festival of the Bands. I was allowed on the field to photograph this time. Phillip is having the time of his life with the band this year. Thankfully, the busy season is almost over. This weekend should be the last big football game and competition at Boise State. It will be nice to take a break from 2-3 times a week practices. The students did a great job once again. They did not rake in all the firsts, came in 2nd overall which was awesome considering the band is small when compared to other schools. I was in awe over the huge harvest moon rising on my drive home. It was stunning.
