Moonglow

Ankle vice! Ankle vice! Josie is my ankle vice. Josie came downstairs last week singing ankle vice, then asked me why her newest fiddle song was about ankle vices. Oh gosh! We are still singing ankle vice to the melody of Edelweiss. Funny goose.

The moon was so bright and beautiful Wednesday night. I went out to take Josie to Activity Days and later back home. The moon beckoned to me. I set up my telescope and enjoyed the bright glow as the moon slowly made its way up the sky. I also sighted Mars and Jupiter but both were mere fuzzy spots through the scope. Evelyn came home queen of YW activities! The girls all welcomed her into YW with fun games, get-to-know you stuff, and of course treats. Evelyn wore a cute tiara as the guest of honor.

MCO started back up this week. We still do not have much information especially in regard to costuming. All I know is that participants will get a packet of material and basic instructions to assemble the material. We get to construct, dirty up, and rusticate the costumes. That sounds like fun. Needless to say, I expect to field quite a few questions and situations this semester. Evelyn really wanted to try out for the child solo, even practiced a few times but we ran out days to get ready. I stayed home from MCO, went to bed at 6 pm. I was comatose, didn’t even wake up to hear Phillip drumming on his snare, the girls arguing, and the normal bedtime chaos.

I am finally taking down Christmas decorations because we have a long weekend. Most of the work happened on Saturday, however I did get some done Friday afternoon. The kids helped out a bit here and there. Amelia had Jocelyn over to hang out most of the day. They painted glass cups as a fun activity. Justin, Sara, and I went to ward temple night to get a sealing session completed. That was nice to get out.

Evelyn commandeered a box and wrote, “Bow down to the Royal Superior.” She added a tiara and chin strap. The best part? She wore it around for two days to run errands, during her visit to Nina, and around the house. I admire that she beats to her own drum with confidence! What kid do you know that would wear a box on their head to Walmart?! I’m proud to raise my hand…ME! ME!

Justin is deep in the trenches of 4th quarter. Even with him working from home he is absent, lost in the accounting world. At least he doesn’t have to lose 1.5 hours commuting after working long hours. Accounting seems like a protracted dance of work, work, wait for feedback and signatures, then let’s throw this in, the throw in causes 10x the amount of work, and on and on. I’m glad he gets paid for that.

I had a very challenging maternity session. Dad did not want to be there, said so several times making the mom cry. The toddler had not napped so was not having ANYTHING, even lollipops were not helping. Poor baby cried and cried! Mom did not want to reschedule and Dad being saucy. I got a couple of photos right at the beginning so at least there is something to show for that crazy session.
