Celebrating Fall
I emailed a photo of Eve to everyone at my school on Tuesday. We might have a taker for Eve! Mrs Burk is our new 4th grade teacher this school year. Her family was dog-sitting her brother’s dogs for a few months, the dogs went home this week. Kylee said she would maybe consider getting a hypoallergenic, non-shedding dog in a year or so. Boom! My email went out and it spoke to her, she brought her husband over Wednesday evening to meet Eve. The next day they brought over their 3 little kids over Thursday afterschool to visit with Eve. Please, please love her! Today they took her home for a few hours just to see how she does with them at home.
Justin is struggling with digestion issues the past 10 days. He is feeling constantly nauseous and tired. I can relate to that feeling, it is no fun at all. It’s an especial struggle right now during busy season.
Everett is in his terrible joke season of life. It seems like everything we say is turned into a joke. Everett is like Gruncle Stan, he just has to say it. I just took a photo of Phillip and Everett is trying to pout his foot into the photo and says, “toe no-one about the picture.” Or Mom, you’re so funny. Me: no I’m weird. Everett: No…you’re weirdly funny. I can’t even begin to describe the punny nature of this kid. Makes us all cringe and laugh at the same time.
Evelyn had her first EVMS choir concert. She looked so cute and short singing her little heart out up on the risers. Just a few moments ago Evelyn and Ambree were practicing their MCO songs, filling our home with beautiful music. Maybe a touch or two of ear-bending tones but on the whole, quite pretty. Amelia performed with the combined choir at the BYU-I devotional on Tuesday and then at Choir fest on Saturday. We tuned in just to watch her sing and get a glimpse of her cute face. She took her first big exam. It was a doozy but now has a better lay of the land so knows how to prepare for future tests.
I helped out at the PTA fall festival Thursday afterschool. I volunteered (tortured myself) at the face painting table. Two hours went by in a flash as a hundred students or more got something painted on their cheeks. My skills are sketchy at best! Josie wore her Ewok costume with much gusto. She added her own mustache just because she could.
Phillip spent Saturday at another band competition, he’s got one more this coming weekend at DIII at Boise State. He drove us home from church in Roz, we were all laughing over the sensitive gas and brake pedals. I’m happy his driving like a grandpa for the moment. He drove straight except for the parking job, that was quite wonky. He drove over a sprinkler head just because he could.
I offered homeschool photos for a few folks who asked if I was going to take photos. It was nice to see the regulars and give them that service. Last night I spent 2 hours with the Beck kids taking headshots and potential album covers for their group, Fiddle Express. We laughed the entire time. It was great fun.
