Solar Eclipse

This week was 2C Kids week (still don’t know what that means), basically an excuse to dress up each day. The best day was PJ day, wore my new green lounge set from Christmas clearance sales. We worked hard finishing up a unit on the Sphero bots. Students learned to use a compass and protractor to direct the bots to certain spots using code. They did not enjoy that as much as just driving the bots about. Thinking hurts. Evelyn’s class went on a virtual trip to NYC on Friday. The students were very excited for the “trip.” I caught Mrs Curtis running down the hallway shouting, “head toward Central Park kids…but DON’T talk to strangers!” They were heading to recess. The looks of delight lifted my mood tremendously.

Monday was the Great Solar Eclipse that traveled opposite of the eclipse from 2017, this one crossed the path of the 2017 eclipse at Jackson Co Missouri! Here in Idaho we only had 40% max coverage around 12:30 pm. James, Miekka, and kids were in Texas for the eclipse but instead got an overcast day. That stinks! Mr Obert mandated an indoor recess so students would not try to look at the sun. I brought my 10 eclipse glasses so students could take turns looking at the event. That was very fun!

I was called to help drive the youth to our combined camp this year to Yellowstone…with Sara! Yay! We get to go camping with the youth. Amelia is a YCL with several older girls and young men. They organized and presented the Camp Kick-Off without much help at all! Should be a fun time.

We family cleaned the loft Saturday afternoon. The game closet was a mess! I am grateful for everyone’s help. I can’t think of anything else for last week.
